Meet Tasha 🐾

If you know Tasha, you’ll know that animals are at the heart of everything she does! As the founder and director of Living Things, she’s built a business around her passion for animal welfare and her love of sharing the amazing world of animals with others.

Tasha loves showing people that there’s so much more to animals than meets the eye. Whether she’s introducing children to an animal they’ve never seen before, helping a production team work safely with animals or sharing her knowledge with fellow animal lovers, she wants every experience to leave people with a better understanding and appreciation of the creatures around them.

Over the years, Tasha’s work has taken her into the world of TV and film, where she’s worked with major broadcasters including ITV, the BBC and Channel 4. As an animal welfare consultant, she helps productions navigate the practicalities of working with animals while making sure their welfare always comes first.

Her passion for helping animals extends far beyond the UK, too. Tasha has been involved in conservation projects in Uganda, Kenya and Sri Lanka, working alongside local communities and wildlife rangers to help people and wildlife live alongside one another more peacefully. These experiences have reinforced her belief that understanding animals is an important step towards protecting them.

For Tasha, running Living Things is about much more than providing animal experiences. It’s about doing things the right way, giving animals the care and respect they deserve, and helping people develop a genuine appreciation for the natural world. She’s passionate about making sure animal welfare is never an afterthought, whether she’s working on a TV set, supporting a conservation project or leading the Living Things team.

What began as a love for animals has grown into a business that Tasha is incredibly proud of, and she continues to bring that same passion and determination to everything she does. 💚

Meet Jamie 🐾

Jamie is an important part of the Living Things family, helping look after the many moving parts that go into our animal experiences. Jamie takes on a bit of everything, from overseeing maintenance and organising day to day tasks to supporting the team and making sure we’re ready for each booking.

Jamie’s work also extends into the world of TV and film, having contributed to productions such as Rise and Fall. Working in this fast-paced environment means keeping on top of the details, collaborating with production teams and adapting to whatever the day brings.

Back at Living Things, Jamie is always ready to get stuck in wherever needed, whether that means sorting out practical jobs, helping the team or tackling something unexpected. Their hands on approach makes them a dependable person to have around!

Meet Ellie 🐾

Ellie has been part of the Living Things family since 2021 and plays an important role in keeping everything running smoothly! As our Senior Administrator, she manages bookings, helps clients plan their experiences and makes sure all the details are taken care of.

Ellie’s experience also extends to the world of TV and film, having worked on some brilliant productions, including I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway, Celebrity Juice and The Emily Attack Show. Her work in television has given her plenty of experience in a fast paced environment where being organised and adaptable is key.

When she’s at our HQ, The Burrows, Ellie also helps care for our animal family. From their daily needs to our Petting Experiences, she loves getting involved with the animals and helping guests create special memories meeting some of our wonderful residents.

We’re so pleased to have Ellie as part of the Living Things team. Her experience, dedication and friendly approach make her a valued member of the family, both at home with the animals and out on set. 💚

Meet Dan 🐾

If you’ve ever called or emailed Living Things, there’s a good chance you’ve already spoken to Dan! As our administrator and a valued member of the management team, Dan keeps everything running smoothly, from managing bookings and answering enquiries to coordinating the many details that make each event and production a success.

Dan loves being organised, solving problems and helping people. Whether he’s planning a special event or making sure everything is ready for an upcoming booking, he brings a friendly, can do attitude to everything he does.

His role also takes him into the exciting world of TV and film, with experience on productions including Celebrity Traitors, Road to a Million and Big Brother. From coordinating animal bookings and logistics to preparing risk assessments and carrying out animal welfare consultations, Dan helps ensure every production runs smoothly, safely and with animal welfare at its heart.

What Dan loves about working at Living Things is the variety. No two days are the same, and he enjoys being part of a team that combines a passion for animals with so many exciting opportunities.

He might not always be the one introducing you to our amazing animals, but Dan plays an important part in making those experiences happen!

Meet Nicki 🐾

Nicki is one of the friendly faces helping bring our Living Things experiences to life! As a Wildlife Presenter and Petting Experience Handler, she combines her love of animals with her passion for creating memorable experiences for others.

Nicki loves introducing people to our wonderful animals, whether she’s presenting to an audience, helping guests meet our animals for the first time or sharing fascinating facts about one of our more unusual residents. She enjoys helping people feel comfortable around animals and discover something new along the way.

As a Wildlife Presenter, Nicki brings our animals’ personalities to life, encouraging people of all ages to ask questions, learn more and develop a greater appreciation for the creatures we share our world with. She loves seeing people’s reactions when they meet an animal for the first time and helping create those special moments they’ll remember long after the experience ends.

Meet Amye 🐾

Amye has loved animals for as long as she can remember! It all started with her first guinea pigs, whom she rehomed through her school, and that early experience helped spark a passion that has stayed with her ever since. She went on to study Animal Management at Writtle College and university, turning her love for animals into a career.

At Living Things, Amye is one of the familiar faces helping care for our animal family. From preparing their food and keeping their homes clean to carrying out health checks and updating welfare records, she takes pride in making sure everything is just right for them.

You’ll also find Amye out sharing her passion as one of our Animal Presenters! She loves getting to know each animal’s individual personality, and she’s built some lovely bonds with many of our rescued and rehomed residents. That understanding helps her introduce them to others in a way that puts their needs first.

One of Amye’s favourite parts of her role is helping people discover just how amazing animals can be. Whether she’s sharing an animal’s story, answering curious questions or encouraging people to see a familiar creature in a new light, she brings warmth and enthusiasm to every presentation.

We’re so happy to have Amye as part of the Living Things family. Her kindness, patience and genuine love for what she does make her a wonderful part of the team, and it’s lovely to see her passion inspiring others to appreciate and respect the creatures we share our world with. 💚

Meet Ryan 🐾

Ryan is a wildlife presenter, conservationist and passionate animal lover who loves nothing more than getting out into nature and sharing his enthusiasm for the incredible creatures we share our world with!

Over the years, Ryan’s work has taken him around the world, giving him the chance to get involved in conservation projects and see first-hand the amazing people working to protect wildlife and their habitats. These experiences have helped shape his passion for conservation and his desire to show others why protecting our natural world is so important.

When he’s back in the UK, Ryan also enjoys supporting local wildlife rescues, helping animals in need and lending a hand to the people working hard to care for them.

At Living Things, Ryan brings plenty of real-life experience, fascinating stories and infectious enthusiasm to every presentation. He loves sharing the little details that make each animal so special, especially those surprising facts that make people stop and think, “Wow, I never knew that!”

For Ryan, it’s all about making a connection. Whether he’s sharing stories from his conservation work, helping out at a rescue or introducing children to some of our amazing animals, he wants people to leave feeling excited about wildlife and inspired to learn more.

We’re thrilled to have Ryan, aka Wild Parker, as part of the Living Things family! His energy, knowledge and genuine passion for conservation shine through in everything he does, and we love seeing him bring the natural world to life for others. 💚

Meet Louisa 🐾

Louisa is a huge animal lover and a much-loved member of the Living Things team! With her calm, caring nature, she has a real passion for making sure every animal feels safe, comfortable and well cared for.

As our Animal Welfare Assistant, Louisa helps care for our animals day to day, getting to know their individual personalities and making sure they receive all the attention they need. She takes great pride in their wellbeing and always puts their needs first.

You’ll also find Louisa helping out at our Petting Experiences, where she loves introducing people of all ages to our wonderful animals. She enjoys sharing her knowledge, answering questions and helping others learn how to interact with animals safely and respectfully.

Louisa has always dreamed of building a career working with animals, and she’s working towards making that dream a reality by continuing her studies at university, with the goal of becoming a vet one day.

We’re so pleased to have Louisa as part of the Living Things family! Her kindness, patience and enthusiasm shine through in everything she does, and we can’t wait to see where her love for animals takes her. 💚

Meet Harry 🐾

Harry is our youngest volunteer at Living Things, and it’s been lovely to see him become part of our animal family! He enjoys getting stuck into the daily routine, from helping clean habitats and prepare food to spending time with the animals and learning all about their individual needs.

Harry has a genuine love for animals, and you can see just how much happiness they bring him. Whether he’s enjoying the different textures of a rabbit’s soft fur, a snake’s smooth scales or a chick’s fluffy feathers, spending time with the animals is something he really looks forward to. He has found that being around them can help him feel calm, comfortable and more confident.

Since joining us, Harry has been making wonderful progress, developing his communication skills and building confidence through his time with the team. It’s been especially rewarding to see him grow more comfortable in his role and enjoy taking on new tasks at his own pace.

We’re really proud of Harry and the care he brings to his role. It means a lot to us to give him the opportunity to learn, build new skills and spend time doing something he genuinely loves. We’re excited to see him continue to grow as part of the Living Things family! 💚
